San Group is proud to announce that our new sawmill in Port Alberni is near completion. Our new mill will be strategically positioned in San Groups vertically integrated business model which is designed to add value to each log harvested from Canadian soil. San B mill is designed to manufacture smaller diameter logs and is projected to produce over 450 MMBF per year, This lumber will be further processed into value added lumber products for local and international export. As San Group only manufactures their lumber in Canada, San B Mill will help exponentially increase the production of Canadian fibre on Canadian soil.
Environmentally, the mill will help address many concerns to reduce the impacts of waste wood slash pile burning – as the new mill will help San Group economically extract lower value fibre from harvesting operations.
We believe in proactively creating solutions and helping increase the value of each log extracted from Canadian soil. This facility is designed to add additional value to each tree harvested, exemplifying San Group’s corporate ethos of using our natural resources at the highest utilization rate possible.
